Oakland Family Services President and CEO Jaimie Clayton selected to serve on county transition advisory group

Oakland Family Services President and CEO Jaimie Clayton has been chosen by newly appointed Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter to serve on a Transition Advisory Group with other leaders in the private, public and civic sectors.

Clayton is one of 10 members of the Transition Advisory Group who will advise Coulter on senior-level staff positions, appointments to county boards and commissions, and evaluate county department programs and organizational charts. The group will help ensure a smooth transition in the county’s administration following the death of former Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.

"I am very humbled and excited to be chosen to serve Oakland County on this transition team,” Clayton said. “Oakland Family Services is proud to have served the county for nearly 100 years and is dedicated to and invested in its future, as well. I look forward to assisting Executive Coulter on the agency's behalf alongside such a distinguished group of community leaders."

Clayton was named president and CEO of Oakland Family Services in 2014. She has been with the agency since 2001, continually progressing in roles and responsibilities. Starting in a therapist position, she advanced into a leadership position in 2004, when she became regional director of Behavioral Health for the Walled Lake and Farmington offices. In 2005, she was promoted to director of Behavioral Health and, prior to her appointment to CEO, had served as vice president of Program Operations since 2007.

Clayton is actively involved in many community and professional organizations. She is co-chair of the Energizing Communities to Healthy Opportunities (ECHO) Steering and Executive Committee (Oakland County Health Department) and a member of the Steering Committee for the Pontiac Timebank, MI Care Council, Working with at Risk Youth (WARY) Community Advisory Board, Children’s Village Adolescent Health Clinic Advisory Board, and the Oakland County Council on Abuse and Neglect. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association, International Association of Addiction and Offender Counselors, and the Michigan Counseling Association.

Clayton was named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s Notable Women in Nonprofits in 2018.
