Director of Quality Assurance

Erika joined Oakland Family Services in 2000.  

She earned a master’s degree in counseling at Oakland University.  

In 1998, Erika completed a clinical internship at Oakland Family Services. After graduation and earning a limited license, she worked at a methadone clinic providing individual and group therapy for individuals with opioid use disorders. While working at the clinic, Erika was offered a clinician position in Oakland Family Services’ Project Recovery Intensive Services for Mothers (PRISM) program and was soon promoted to PRISM program supervisor, then lead clinical manager and eventually to director of behavioral health operations. After 8 years as the director of behavioral health operations, Erika transferred to her current role in the quality assurance department. 

As the director of quality assurance, Erika manages quality assurance activities across Oakland Family Services’ programs, including client rights and protection, case utilization review activities and contract compliance (including Oakland Community Health Network, managed care providers/third-party insurances, and subcontractors in the Specialized Services for Youth program).  

She also supports the agency's Risk Management Committee as needed. Additionally, Erika is the privacy officer, coordinator of the HIPAA Data Breach Analysis Process and deputy recipient rights advisor for Oakland Family Services under the vice president of quality and planning.
