FOCUS

Intensive Treatment for Offenders in the Community Under Supervision (FOCUS) is a program designed to enhance substance abuse treatment services for people who are involved with the criminal justice system.  Non-clinical issues, such as transportation, housing, financial issues and unemployment, can impact a person’s ability to remain in treatment and sustain recovery.  This is particularly true for people involved in the criminal justice population, particularly those returning to the community following incarceration.  The FOCUS program addresses this need and improves treatment outcomes by providing intensive and comprehensive case management and recovery support services.

The services offered include:

  • Case Management
  • Transportation
  • Community Linkages
  • Skill Building Groups
  • Parenting Classes
  • Recovery Support
  • Child care during services

The criteria for involvement in the program is:

  • Enrolled in the substance abuse treatment program at Oakland Family Services
  • Current involvement in the criminal justice system
  • Meet program criteria assessing need for case management and additional support services

This program is funded by a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Center for Substance Abuse Treatment.
